I just had to share these photos of two plants which are in full flower at the moment. One is a cacti of mine and the other is a lily I gave to my mum. Aren’t they stunning?
The cacti is called Echinopsis chamaecereus, I bought it for two quid at a garden centre because no one knew what it was! I did some plant identification work and narrowed it down until this name was the one I found that most closely resembles it. I love the blooms it has, they are such a vivid colour!
I actually rescued this lily (Lilium) from work, I was weeding a massive bank which should only have had one shrub growing there – instead there was brambles, willow herb, ivy, and lilies! I managed to save two lily plants, both bulbs were slightly damaged so when I gave them to my mum as a present I warned her that they might die. . .
As it turned out both plants survived and are flowering like there’s no tomorrow. I have no idea what cultivar they are, there are thousands of orange lilies out there – my mum loves them regardless! There’s nothing I love more than a ginger flower, I hope you enjoy the photos! 🙂
